Amalia is named for Sigmund Freud's mother, and one can imagine her son would have a field day analyzing the competing textures and patterns flowing through the two-story space. Glass-ensconsed beams, baroque paintings hung on the ceiling, and peacock-adorned wallpaper summon a dreamlike state, as do the menu's modern twists on Mediterranean fare: hamachi crudo, chorizo-stuffed chicken with pickled golden raisins, and wild king salmon with cucumber-lime yogurt.
